The King Gets Knocked Out
In a shocking upset at the U.S. Open tennis tournament, world No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been eliminated by the unseeded Alexei Popyrin.
Popyrin, ranked 113th in the world, played the match of his life, defeating Djokovic in straight sets (7-65, 6-4, 6-2).
Djokovic, who was heavily favored to win the tournament, appeared off his game from the start and was unable to find his rhythm.
The Field Is Wide Open
With Djokovic out of the tournament, the field is wide open for a new champion to emerge.
Several players have a chance to make a deep run, including Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev.
Medvedev, who is ranked No. 2 in the world, is the favorite to win the title.
